Loki Season 01 Episode 04: The Nexus Event Plot Summary and Synopsis

The episode starts with Ravonna Renslayer arrest Sylvie when she was a kid for unknown crime committed against the TVA.

On Lamentis-1, Sylvie tells Loki she escaped the TVA’s detention as a kid.

In the present, Renslayer informs Mobius about Hunter C-20’s death in uncertain circumstances.

Loki and Sylvie form a romantic bond, creating a unique branched timeline. Mobius has them both arrested, punishing Loki by leaving him in a time loop with Sif.

After Mobius and Hunter B-15 realize they are variants after interrogating Loki and Sylvie, Mobius frees Loki from the loop but is soon confronted by Renslayer for stealing her Time Pad. Mobius tells Renslayer that he wants to go to the time he is really from. She orders to prune Mobius.

Loki and Sylvie are taken to the Time Keepers by Renslayer before Hunter B-15 intervenes. In the ensuing fight, Renslayer’s minutemen are pruned whilst Renslayer is knocked unconscious by Sylvie, who destroys one of the Time Keepers, discovering they are mindless androids.

Loki Season 01 Episode 04: The Nexus Event Mid-Credits Scene

The Ending Explained

The pruning apparently doesn’t work as everyone else thought. At least it doesn’t kill gods, with possible extension to other characters like Mobius with whom Loki befriended. Also, as expected, Time Keepers are only puppets in someone else’s hideous hands.

Cooncel Rating

A great episode that doesn’t tie all the loose ends, but puts some great action on the table for the pre-final episode of the show.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
