Filmmaker Aneesh Chaganty stormed Utah in 2018 with his 2018 breakout thriller “Searching,” for which he won the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. That film, a mystery thriller mostly set within computer screens and smartphones, was inventive and exciting, almost a pre-cursor to what some of the more adventurous filmmakers have done on Quibi (R.I.P., Quibi). Well, Hollywood took notice, came calling and Chaganty is already back with his latest, “Run,” a mother-daughter horror/thriller that stars Sarah Paulson and Kiera Allen. “Run” was originally a Lionsgate film and was scheduled for this year, but like most film distribution companies in 2020 without a theatrical environment to play their films (thanks COVID and Trump), the company sold it off to a streamer, in this case, Hulu, who will debut the film in November.
