If it’s a Sunday evening in March 2021 it must be time for the guild award honors to begin. On this day, the Writer’s Guild of America handed out their annual WGA Awards winners and the two biggest awards gave only a hint of what might happen on Oscar night. In the Original Category, Emerald Fennell won for “Promising Young Woman” while Sacha Baron Cohen and nine other writers were honored in Adapted Screenplay for “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.” Both are nominated for Academy Awards to be handed out next month.
