Analyst and reliable industry insider Daniel Ahmad first reported that Sony is using Delta to fly around 60 flights from October to ship consoles to retailers around the world. While this method will ensure PlayStation 5 consoles get to stores much quicker than they would if they went via sea, the move will be much more expensive for Sony. It’s not clear by how much, but if you’ve ever compared flights and ferry prices, you have some idea. Now imagine how much it’d cost if you’re paying to fill that flight with as many next-gen consoles as it can carry. Yikes.
